Three Point One Four Creations is a craft business that is a unique among most other craft businesses. They are not bow makers (which are cute), not crocheters (which are awesome), and not jewelry makers (which are are amazing).Three Point One Four Creations  specializes is geekish crafts. What are geekish crafts?

Well let me start with this if you or know someone who is into gaming, nostalgia, secretly or not so secretly a brony, go larping on the weekends, or just love characters such as Wolverine, Mario, Trunks, My Little Pony, Princess Peach, and so on this place is for you. They specialize in creating geek and nerdy love into a new an amazing form of art!

I love how they describe themselves as Geekish Mister and Misses who create wooden dolls and perler bead creations based of Geeky Fandom. I love all of their work but I must admit I drool over their perler bead creations! Does anyone remember perler beads? I remember messing with them a long time ago making hearts in elementary school. However, what these two can do with perler beads goes beyond child's play and lets your inner geek shine through!!! I am constantly on their page snooping to see what they have created next.

First I want you to meet you the owners of Three Point One Four Creations!!! These are the two masterminds behinds these amazing creations.

These two artistes surprised me with my own perler creation!!! So for a thank you I am writing this sort of review of my creation. At no point did Three Point One Four Creations ever ask for a review in my gift so this more of a huge shout out to a page I really like!!!

I would like you to meet my perler creation.... RAINBOW DASH!!! I am at least 10% cooler for now having my own perler creation from Three Point One Four Creations!! I have her on my bookshelf where my other prize items go besides my sweet love of books.

Trick or Treat A Little Late BUT tons of pics!

Image found on Google Free Images Please Contact for credit or removal

I am a little behind on my post but I am still getting use to trying to maintain a regular blog my Bipolar world and daily life. It is a lot harder than I thought. So huge props to the ones that have really successful blogs I know they put a lot of work in it!

My House On  Halloween! Property A Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

So Halloween has come and gone in this household but it was sure an event in this house! We usually go all out in this household but because Christopher was and is still recovering from knee surgery there was a limited stuff that we could do for Halloween like going to a corn maze, festivals, pumpkin picking and so on. So it required me to do a lot of thinking of what can we do here!

As I stated in my last post we did tons of family movies nights and not mention pumpkin carving and painting. You can read about that here Weekend Wrap Up ....

Something that we allowed this year was let Caleb pick out his Halloween costume. So we all went to a Halloween store and he walked up and down the isles taking in everything it was a little bit overwhelming but he decided to be one of the cutest pirates ever. I also decided that whatever Caleb decided to be for Halloween I would make Caydance's costume to match it or pair it off it! So I decided she would be Tinkerbell and I would make it! So I set off making a Tutu Dress. I have only made a tutu skirt before but it was fun overall and I would do it again. I am not sure when we let Caydance pick out her first costume probably when she ask because I am having fun making them.

The day of Halloween I was not feeling the best but I made sure to put on my best face because I would have to take the kids around the neighborhood. We got the kids ready and let them play outside as we finished up the outside and pull out the wagon for me. I do not think we could have asked for better weather!!! It was perfect not hot or cold the best Halloween weather ever:)

Well I loaded up the kids in the wagon and we headed off to explore the neighborhood! We live in military housing so we live in a huge housing community. Actually two housing communties are back to back. I have to admit I was a little nervous being by myself and how my little ones would react for a couple of reasons.

More wagon fun: Property A Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

Taking turn with the wagon: Property A Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

1. This was the first time I was out on my own. Last year my Daddy help take the kids around while my Mom and Hubs manned the house because hubs was also recovering from a procedure. The previous year was Caleb's first Halloween so we only went to like three houses for pictures ops then manned the house the rest of night.

2. I am not sure what is about the Military but we really get into our holidays and Halloween is no exception! I think it is because a lot of military service members often miss out holidays, special events, birthdays, milestones, and annevessarys that we tend to go all out for them. We are no different and love to decorate and just love to have a great time and have fun!!! However, just like many parents I am not sure even though you try to teach them the people walking around the decorations around are not real even if they seem scary.

One of the most decorated houses in the neighborhood: Property A Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life
3. Finally this reason is not so much a reason of being as nervous but rather to see the progress my son has made. Caleb has a speech delay and when he is in a new situation he often will not speak until he is comfortable. Even though he gets really comfortable really fast and he will start talking in his language or say words I was unsure how trick or treating would go. We did practice tons at the house :)

Caleb: Property A Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

When we first started I think they were just enjoying the wagon ride more than anything. The first couple of houses. I had to walk Caleb to the first couple houses and take him to hold his pail out. No matter how much we practice he would not say "Trick or Treat". He did say Hi, Bye, and signed please. I had to explain to a couple of people when he did the sign for please and others stood it right off the bat. I assume they either know some who is deaf, baby signs, or speech therapy. It is always nice when you do not have explain what your child is not doing when he is communicating :) . Caleb was also very good listening to directions very well by not reaching into the candy buckets and waiting his turn. He also grabbed two pieces of candy one at a time for his sister and him when there was just a bucket left out. He also was not afraid. I am not sure if it was the conquest of candy or he realized it most of it seemed fake and fun there was "nothing" that could really get him. I mean  I was shocked of some of the stuff he walked up too. NOTE: Most people here take off their mask to let them know it is just a person underneath but this year no need too. The only thing that freaked him out was this large type talking doll but in all fairness that thing freaked me out too! He also did an awesome job not eating the candy! I was seeing kids left and right just stuffing candy in their mouths and not that I do not let my kids have a piece from their haul (just like I did when I was little) I want to check it properly (I am not saying that parents do not check it there I just prefer to wait to I get home) when I get it home he also held onto his sisters bucket and only handed it to her next house.
I am not sure Caydance really thought about it all except loving her costume. As soon as the costume came on she knew she was a little fair/princess and the twirls and dancing begun. She also was trying to find her feet under all that tulle. She is always an amusing site for sure. I do not think this year she was really into trick or treating. She is still a little on the young side to understand she is almost 15 months but most people thought she was just about to turn 1 and this is her second Halloween. I cannot believe she was just over 3 months last year <3 . Caydance basically wanted to keep getting in and out of wagon and just walk! She got very tired of the whole trick or treating real fast! However, I noticed that among that a lot of young ones passed out in strollers or being carried by their parents. I always enjoy the sites of Halloween. So I ended up taking Caydance back to hang out with Daddy which she had a lot more fun running around the yard and checking out the costumes.

Caleb and I parked the wagon and set out for a little more trick or treating! With having two kids it is often hard to spend quality time with just one of them. I enjoyed every minute of it walking with my little man holding my hand. He was even talking to me and holding a small conversation. It was sure a memory that I will always have with him. We actually called Grandma that night :-) he was actually telling her about that night of what we could get out of the conversation. He kept telling her Mommy and me! Then patting me... it was like he was proud of just me and him.

Well the night ended with a light meal, showers, and each picking a treat from the bucket.

Even though the next day was the first day of November it was still Halloween weekend. So we spent most of the day outside enjoying the weather. However, I decided to a Halloween fun meal for my little ones. Which included bloody spiders, purple green beans, banana ghost, and bread bones (sorry no pictures of the bread bones they came out a little...umm naughty like).

Between baths and picking up the living room the kids decided they would find new uses for Halloween buckets besides putting candy in them....

Pen Pal Crafts ... Why Did We Not Think Of This Sooner?

Pen Pal Crafts
Version 1.0

I am sure some of you have heard of this idea before and some may have even put their own concept of pen pal crafts into actions. This blog post is to tell you how my friend Sierra and I are still able to craft together even though we are a couple states apart!

~Small Introduction/Back Ground~

I love to craft and more than I love to craft I love to craft with people. I have some of my favorite memories of crafting with friends. One of my memories I have is remembering crafting with my friend Sarah on New Year Eves, drinking Sparkling Grape Juice, and waiting for Kevin to get home to see who got the first arrest of the year. I have been lucky to come across a couple of people who in my life who truly love to craft and that includes Sierra.

Say Hi Sierra! Property of Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

I first met Sierra soon after my husband and I were stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. We soon learn that we had a lot in common to include crafting. There were many nights that we crochet, dabble in other crafts, and spend many hours just talking. However, life normal events happen and we are now separated by couple of states.

Sadly since Sierra left a couple of years ago I have not been able to find anyone who wants to craft with me! I have asked friends and even a couple of family members and no takers!!! It really sucks!! Because I said they do not have to buy anything I mean I own my little craft store but no matter how you lead a horse to water you cannot make them drink not that I am calling my friends horses... :-) . Sierra and I would talk about crafts here and there what we were up too in the crafting and so on... and always we miss are crafting buddies!

Then one night not so long ago we decided to become Pen Pal Crafters!

Why did we not think of this sooner? DING! DING! DING! DING!

DING! DING! DING! Property of Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

~Concept/Guidelines~

These are Guideline and the concepts of how our pen pal craft system works

1. Find ideas that you would like to do and make a list!

Sierra and I established a list on Pinterest where we are both able to pin ideas that we would like to perhaps one day try. We pinned crafts that are not in are norm and will make us step out of our comfort zone.

2. Pick out an idea!

We both pick out a couple of ideas and if we could not decide on one we run it through a random number generator. We also alternate who will run the ideas through the random number generator. There are tons of free random site generators online you simply just need to look one up. Also consider picking out themes depending on what month the crafts falls in! Once your idea is picked out make sure you discuss the rules or guidelines of the project. For example, will they be identical, the same theme, can be different as long as the contain one item, and so on.

3. Pick out a schedule!

Each persons schedule is different so you will want to make sure you guys work out a schedule that best fit you. For us are progress photos are shown towards the end of the month and are big reveal within the first week of the following month. For example, this Pen craft progress pictures will be shown on October 25th and the Big reveal pictures will be Nov 8th.

4. Show a picture of your initial supplies!

Without revealing to much to your project take a picture of all your supplies you intend to work with for that project for that craft project. This way you guys can be curious about each others project!!!

My initial supplies picture: Property of Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

5. Have fun discussing and take pictures!

Have fun chatting and discussing about your projects. Talk about your tips and even bumps/fails that you have learned a long the way. Ask questions? Maybe the other person has stumbled upon something that you have not yet.

Take lots of pictures! Remember you have progress and reveal pictures to take! Close ups, far away, anddifferent angles.. your crafting parenting is not there with you.

Maybe even thinking about skyping, chatting, or something a long those nature if you can

6. Consider when to actually exchange your work!

Just like actual pen pals decide a couple times each year when you should actually exchange your work with each other. Whether it is on Birthdays or just a unique craft.

7. HAVE FUN!!!!

Remember to have fun with these projects! There was a reason you and your friend got together in the first place and craft together.

The most important rule just have fun!!!!!!

I AM ALL FOR DABBLING!

So you saw something somewhere and thought to yourself... "I should try that" or "I wish I could do that"!!! ......Then..... NOTHING... there wishful thinking or idea just gone...

I ask you why?

There are often blessings and down sides to being Bipolar but one of the huge blessing is I am always up for trying something new. Luckily this wanting to try something new is not in reckless activities but in my creativity. So when I can get some down time I am on Pinterest, in craft groups, reading books, and so forth seeing what sparks my interest...and I can tell you it does not take much to get these creative juices flowing and growing. Now there are often 900 thoughts, 900 ideas, 70 different directions going off at once but when thing stands out I make a plan for the creative idea, go with, and DABBLE!

When  I dabble I have learned 2 majors concepts and within those concepts tons of other concepts that can go on and on but there is truly not enough time for that!

1. It was an EPIC FAIL...what in the world was I thinking!!!

2. It was a Success!!!

I have tons of what I views of successes and what I view as epic fails or something that did not turn out what I thought it should be!

I started a blog

I view this as a success. By no means is this some major blog with tons of readers but I now have an outlet of somewhat. When I first started writing my blog was really all over the place and I mean all over the place.  It was almost diary like..who wants to read that? So I narrowed it down and focused on really what I wanted my blog to be about. Even though it is far from perfect I am very happy with the direction it is going in.

I started experimenting with recipes

I was so blessed with great eaters as kids and of course I have a husband that is a great eater as well so I can explore some awesome recipes. I view these as both as successes as an epic fails! Some have turned out awesome and others have turned out others have ended up in the category of what was I thinking to even try this!!! What I love about this hubs finds recipes and they magically appear somewhere for me to try ;-) .

Craft dabbling

This is probably the biggest area where I dabble. With this major area of dabble I have produced some epic successes and epic failures. However, with each success and failure I keep dabbling and my list keeps growing of things to try.

DIY

This is probably the second biggest area where I dabble but always on the growing the side. With this other major area of dabble I have produced some epic successes and epic failures. However, my list of  DIY projects is always growing and on my to-do-list to try.

My DIY Nails for the for my friends party. I loved how they turned out but it took me over two hours to get the stuff  off!!! Photo: Property of Bipolar Mom and Her Daily Life

So stop saying "I should try this", "I wish I could do that", " I do not have creative bone in my body", and so on. Just do it!!! It is amazing what you will discover about yourself!!!!

A Bipolar Mom and Daily Life! : DIY TUTU DRAPES and TULLE DRAPES

A Bipolar Mom and Daily Life! : DIY TUTU DRAPES and TULLE DRAPES: Let me first say that I am sorry that I have not been on for a while. The last part of my pregnancy was interesting to say the least. Well t...

DIY TUTU DRAPES and TULLE DRAPES

Let me first say that I am sorry that I have not been on for a while. The last part of my pregnancy was interesting to say the least. Well that part is over and I am now a proud parent of a beautiful little girl! With that being said it leads me into my next post about drapes.

When I was re-doing the nursery from the little boys nursery to a little girls nursery the room took on a princess theme. I re-did an old dresser and night stand of mine in pink as well as change out the bedding. However, because I live in military housing I could not paint the walls. Actually, I take that back I can paint the walls but you have to either paint them back to white or pay a fee when you move out and it just something I am really not into so I wanted to make a small statement with the window treatments. In the nursery there are two very different shaped windows that would make it hard for me at least to decide on what style from a store that I would settle on. So I went to the infamous http://pinterest.com/ website and started looking up possible ideas for the window treatments for the nursery when I came across no-sew tulle drapes! There were a couple of pages that led to me to places where I could pay for custom made tulle drapes but not this MOMMY!!! If there is a will there is way!

The next will be the directions on how I made my no-sew tulle window treatments

Supplies You Will Need

Tulle (size, color(s), and amount will determine how long and how thick you want the look. I used both bolts (yardage) and spools)

Scissors or Pinking Sheers

Helping Hand (Optional- I was very pregnant making these so I had my mom help me)

This is the first window treatment I did. I bought all tulle at www.fabric.com which for me has a great selection of tulle. This tulle would be considered being bought off the bolt. Meaning if you went into a fabric store or fabric section your would see them on bolts with the other fabrics.  As you can see the colors I selected. I do suggest if you are not familiar with fabric.com or other online fabric stores that you actually go to a fabric store to see the tulle in person because buying online the colors may appear different on screen then what you are actually looking for. For this size window each panel is 4 1/2 yards. When I bought the tulle I bought it in 9 yard sections at (.99 cent a yard) so basically my mother an I cut each piece in half. I then took each panel and tied it directly to the drape rod. I experimented with multiple style knots but I settled on a simple slip knot (here is a link if you are not familiar with the knot http://www.ehow.com/video_4971036_tie-slipknot.html) . I will note on each piece one end is smaller than the other I made sure all my shorter pieces were in the back. I personally like the space between them but you can add more tulle or spread them out more it really is up to you. What I really like about these besides being inexpensive is how easy it will be easy to change them out so as her taste change so can the tulle (if that is what she is wanting).

The second window treatment I did I found on pinterest.com it was called a tutu valance and as you can see it looks like one big fluffy tutu. For this instead of buying the tulle on the bolts I bought the tulle on spools. You can find them most anywhere but I also bought mine at fabric.com because they had the exact same colors on the bolt as they did on spools so my colors match on both window treatments.I have included a picture of tulle on a spool for those who may not know what I am talking about. I also suggest that you make sure that you buy enough tulle for each project. This one I bought two spools of each color. They cost about $2.98 for each spool for the type I bought at fabric.com. This one consist of 5 colors so this did make this window treatment more expensive then the other but still more affordable than custom made drapes and much cuter than anything I saw in stores. The first two things you will have to decide on is what pattern of colors you would want and how long you would want each piece. Each piece I cut with the pinking sheers were about 4-5 inches. I then you used a simple slip knot (http://www.ehow.com/video_4971036_tie-slipknot.html) and tied each piece to the drape rod. I cannot tell you how pieces I tied to the rod but I can tell you that I used all my tulle and packed it all together for a really full look. Again play with look and see what you come up with! I had a lot of fun making these drapes. I will be still be adding something to these probably a sheer underneath these.

This is tulle on a spool most often you can find it as 6" x 25 yards

Oh Where Are You My Craft? (My Craft Face)

I am a crafter, I am not sure if there really is any other name for it... I am not sure how long I have been crafting but I do know that it has been in a while! There are things that I am good at and others that I am still mastering but the key here is trying. I do know that I am a yarn junkie from the word go and I have a complete love for crocheting. I just cannot get enough of working with my hands in this aspect, I think in many ways because it is becoming a lost art like actually letter writing. I love to see my ideas come to life so-to-speak. There are a lot of women and men in my family that have sparked great creativity in me. I guess I have been blessed to get it from both sides..... I will name a few and why I am inspired (there are way to many to list)

My Grandma Franklin-I remember her sewing room, to me it was huge (the actual size does not matter). However, I remember some great creations that came from that room... a foot pillow and a frog (that I still have). Now I am still learning my way around fabric, thread, and a needle but hope to make her one day proud.

My Grandpa Franklin- I do not remember a lot as personal memories but I came across a pattern he had drawn for some wood working. I do not do any woodworking but the pattern is what inspired me because it has the perfectionist streak in it and it is something you want to stand by and be proud of.

My Aunt Gail- I am not sure what this woman cannot do, I have tons of memories of her sewing or working out in a workshop. My Aunt is a natural when it comes to things like crafting, gardening, canning, and so much more (proof that it is in the blood). Hopefully, her green thumb will rub of on me!

My Daddy- my dad loves to work with wood maybe he got that from his dad but I have seen some amazing things these past few years come out on his creative side. He has always been good fixing and building things and coming up with great designs. He has taught me that we all need to find something that we like to do and share that talent!!!

My Grandpa Clemo- He was a latch hooker, I remember him sitting there doing latch hooks. I am not sure why he did them but it is a great memory I have of him. I like to think it kept his mind busy. He always had mind teaser puzzles and other things to keep your mind sharp so maybe that was just one of this things!

My Grandma Clemo- She cross stitched but in all fairness she got it from me because I tried it when I was younger and well it did not end good. However, she corrected and I guessed liked it and she was doing it ever since. I stayed away from it for a very long time but some how I was brought back to it! I do other needle work such as needle point.

My Aunt Renae- This lady can decorate and make everything look just beautiful! She is such a hard worked. I love her eye for decorating and making everything stand out!

My brother- The artist, I would say starving but that is not the case. However, he is able to draw and paint. He makes fun of me that I cannot draw a stick figure but he has not seen a lot of my new projects! He gives me the inspiration to try new things.

My Mom- We like to explore new crafts together. Some things we are good at others we laugh at and go.... what in the world was that suppose to be.... we help each other with new techniques and explore what the craft world has to offer.

Sara C- She might as well be my sister. She is my best friend's wife however, this past year she gave this inspiration to go farther with my crafts. She was telling me about this website and said she say something that she thought she could make and just did.... she has nack for it to. NOW if I can get her to scrapbook!!! (HINT)!!!

These are just some of the people who inspire me in this area!!! There are so many more but there simply is just not enough space or time!!!

However, I leave you with this.... if you are interested in trying something.... then try it! It does not matter if it does not turn out the way you thought it would or it leads to something else... the fact is you did it!

Here are two of my favorite sites
